Las Coloradas is a beautiful place in Yucatan, where the concentration of salt causes a concentration of microorganisms rich in beta-carotene that make the waters here tinge with a peculiar reddish tone, which has motivated thousands of tourists to come to this point to witness such a spectacle. On the other hand, these microorganisms are the main food of the flamingos that live in the area and the reason for the reddish color of these birds.
Once in Río Lagartos, aboard a boat, you will take a tour of the estuary and you will be able to appreciate the beautiful landscapes of the area, as well as spot various species of local fauna such as flamingos, cormorants, crocodiles, etc., from a distance that does not disturb them. Here we recommend enjoying a typical meal from the region.

From the archaeological zone of Uxmal we set off towards the magical town of Izamal.
Known as the City of the Three Cultures, Izamal guards the cultural legacy of the Yucatecan people. In this city there are both magnificent Mayan pyramids and beautiful colonial houses, and its people proudly display the cultural syncretism of the Mayan people. Here we recommend visiting the center, the Convent of San Antonio de Padua and climbing to the top of the Kinich Kakmó Pyramid, which is just a few blocks away.
Izamal is also famous for its rich gastronomy. We recommend enjoying the meal in one of its restaurants.
We leave Izamal heading to Pisté de Chichen Itzá where we stay at the Puerta Chichén hotel to rest and have dinner. At this hotel we recommend requesting a presentation on the history of Chichén Itzá in the on-site planetarium, this will allow you to better understand and enjoy the archaeological zone that we will visit in the morning.
